Valentine's Day

Step 1: Prepare the Yarn

Cut strands of yarn, each about 24 inches long. You'll need three strands for each bracelet (one of each color). Secure the strands together by tying a knot and taping them down at one end, creating a base for braiding.

Step 2: Begin Braiding

Separate the strands into three distinct sections: left, middle, and right. Start braiding by crossing the right section over the middle, then the left section over the new middle. Continue this pattern, keeping the braid tight and neat. Ensure the tension is consistent as you braid.

Step 3: Add Beads

After braiding about an inch, it's time to add beads! Thread the beads onto the strands as you continue braiding. This step adds a lovely touch to the bracelet.

Step 4: Create a Pattern

Alternate between braiding and adding beads until you reach the desired bracelet length. You can experiment with bead placement to create unique patterns or simply add them randomly.

Step 5: Tie Off the Bracelet

Once you've reached the desired length, tie a knot at the end to secure the braid and prevent the beads from sliding off. Trim any excess yarn.

Step 6: Spread the Love!

Encourage students to exchange their handmade bracelets with friends or family as tokens of appreciation and friendship. Emphasize the joy of giving and the spirit of Valentine's Day.
